Hey guys! We haven't posted for awhile...which we feel horrible for, but when we're on the road, internet access is very scarce! We have been on the road in the midwest for the past few weeks, and had a lot of fun! We got to see Mt. Rushmore which was awesome! We played some awesome shows, and had a lot of fun with our friends, Quick to Fall, during the last couple dates! Thanks to those guys for letting us hang out and have a blast with them! We are home for a few days, but we're leaving to play more shows soon! Check out our website (www.theswitchx.com), for updated tour info, and make sure you come out and see a show!

Tour Updates and Stuff.
Hola. The first week of this tour has been way sweet. We're looking forward to the rest of the shows. Some of the highlights include waterballons being hurled at vans while doing 80, me blatently breaking the law infront of a law enforcement official, eating more mcdonalds than i ever cared to (i swear, mcdonalds is all last tuesday eats.). So basically things have been going awesome! There is one small article of bad news...the show we were playing in Erie, PA on June 1st has been cancelled. We're really bummed out this!!!! We had gotten of lot of emails and myspace messages from those of you who were coming, and we tried getting back to everyone who emailed us about the show being cancelled, so make sure you don't go tomorrow! We won't be there! We're working hard to book something up there soon to make it up to you! That's all guys, we'll see you soon!

The Prize Fight was just awesome...some really nice guys, and a really great band. I was really excited to hear them (and if you want to hear them, check out www.purevolume.com/theprizefight). I had a lot of fun during our set...it was definately the most fun I've had at a show for a while! Thanks to everyone who sang along, and danced. You guys are great, and we really appreciate everyone who likes our band! To everyone that was there last night...we are playing in Butler, PA on June 2nd with our good friends Last Tuesday (www.purevolume.com/lasttuesday). RIP Linus.
Linus died this past Saturday night. We had the privilege of playing their first and their last shows…and countless shows in between. We got to watch them grow from pop-punk Linus into emo/hardcore/punch-your-mom-in-the-face Linus. We got to have a lot of fun with the boys in Linus. When we played together it was a recipe for disaster and awesomeness. Awesome because the shows were always off the hook, disastrous because we were a volatile bunch around each other...those Linus boys were especially rowdy. They will be missed, by the member's of the Switch, and by their fans all across the nation. They are all continuing to make music in some way or another, so keep an eye out for them. To the members of Linus...thanks for being such great friends, and for leaving us with so many great memories. We already miss you!

Our new motto is: Leave no man Behind!
Hey guys, it's been awhile! Things have been swell for us, how are you? We spent all last week in Nashville, TN, hanging out with the Fold and Slingshot57. It was awesome. We played with the Fold on Monday night, and then had 2 days afterwards to just relax. We had a cookout. We watched a lot of movies. We threw hotdogs at Paul's face. It was a great time! So much fun that we were actually a bit sad to leave Nashville behind, but it had to be done. Thursday morning we left Nashville for Clarion, PA. We had to get gas about 3 hours into the drive, at a truckstop in the middle of nowhere in kentucky. So I get out to pump gas (incase you didn't remember, I=Matt), and our friend James who came down with us asks if they have a bathroom. I didn't have any idea, so I told him to just check it out. I finished pumping the gas, went in and paid for it, and just hopped in the van and drove. AJ and Jed were both asleep in the back, and James is a quite kid, so we weren't surprised that it was very quite back in the van. Rob and I were upfront going over tax information for about a half hour, until he looks back and screams, "WHERE IS JAMES!" We left him at the truckstop a half hour back. Jed woke up and started laughing hysterically, then woke up AJ who also started laughing as hard as he could. So we turned around and drove back to that truckstop, to find James sitting on the curb, eating cheetos and scratching lottery tickets. The moral of the story is always look behind you before you take off down the highway.
Just one more thing, we want to thank Butler for singing along with us at the Punchline show. You guys are awesome, and we'll be back sometime soon to see you! Thank you!
~Matt

we don't like ohio
Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since we've updated this, we've been running around like crazy, and finishing up the "rat stache' tour" with the fold. The show's have been awesome, the kids we met have been awesome, and slingshot 57 and the fold have been awesome. I'm sure that by now some of you have heard about our accident. Here's what happened. We left our friends the fold and slingshot in champaine, IL, and had to drive through the night back to PA. AJ and Jed drove, letting Rob, Ben, and I sleep in the back. Around 5AM, just a few miles outside of Ohio, they hit a massive snow/ice storm. I woke up at 5:30 to our van sliding and fishtailing all over the road. It was very scary! AJ did a great job handling the van...if we had slid off of the road, the van would have rolled and we may not be here today. We slid about three times and came to a stop, thinking we were fine until AJ looked in the sideview mirrors and saw the trailer on it's side in the middle of the road. The trailer had busted off of the hitch on our van, and broken one of the restraint chains in the process. We were able to get the van off of the highway, but our trailer was still blocking one lane of traffic, and was almost hit several times by other motorists. Rob had worn shorts to sleep better in the van (it's quite uncomfortable)...now he was out in a snowstorm trying to direct traffic. The police showed up, and decided the best course of action was to unload the trailer and try and set it back on it's wheels. It was very difficult to take all of the gear out of our trailer while it was on it's side, but the officer helped us and we got it done, and got our trailer back on it's wheels. Here's the amazing thing, other than some dents, scratches, and a bent up hitch, the trailer was fine! None of our equipment was damaged, and it really should have been. We pray for protection on the road every day, and you take it for granted until something like this happens and you realize that our accident could have been a lot worse...we could have died if AJ had not kept our van on the road. It was a miracle that we were alive, a miracle that all of our guitars, drums, amps, etc. were not damaged at all, and it's a miracle that an hour after all this happened, we were back on the road, driving to our show...with the trailer behind us still. Here are the pictures:

This is the first thing we saw whenever we got out of the van.

I had gotten very little sleep, was woken up by being scared to death, found out our trailer flipped, and was standing outside freezing...and for some reason had a stupid grin on my face.

We had to unload the trailer while it was like this...very difficult.

Here is all of our equipment scattered over the shoulder of I-70.

Rob, inspecting the interior.

So there you have it! Thanks for your prayers while we're on the road, we always need them!

the "rat 'stache" tour moves west
Hey guys! Here's the scoop from the past few days...Edinboro was awesome! It was one of the bigger crowds that we've had there, and you guys were awesome! We promise we'll play the Full House song next time we come to the hangout...and don't worry, we'll come back soon...so bring your friends! That night we drove through a nasty little snowstorm to westminster college to stay with our friend's Bryan and Mike, and their generous roommates! Thanks so much for letting us stay and entertaining us! Last night we played at the Section 8 skatepark in Ohio. Special thanks to Ten Count Fall for bringing their PA and playing with us! Those guys are hilarious! We're meeting up with the Fold again in a few days, so keep checking out the website with updated tour dates! www.theswitchx.com We'll be meeting up with our friends in Slingshot 57 soon as well, and wreaking havoc in the mid-west! We'll see you at a show!
~Matt!
PS. I want to give a shout out to some cool kids at Keystone Elementary School in Knox, PA. My good friend Madeline (you might know her as Miss Baldizar) told me that her entire 5th grade class have become huge fans of The Switch! We wanted to say thanks, and you guys rock!

On the road again!
Hey guys! This is Matt. We kicked off our tour with the Fold two nights ago, and we've been having a blast! We played in Kittaning two nights ago, and in Butler last night. Kittaning was cool, it was the first time I have ever seen the Fold play, and they rock! We got cut off 2 songs into our set, which is never fun, but I guess the kids had to go home. Last night in Butler was also cool...thanks so much if you braved the snowstorm and came out! So in a few hours we're leaving for the Hangout in Edinboro (which is always a fun time!), so if you're reading this and don't have anything to do tonight, I recommend you come and check out the show. We'll try and update as much as we possibly can while on the road, but internet access is scarce! Hopefully we'll get more pictures...my sister took her camera back so I'm unable to get any for the journal for a little bit! Check out the website for the show listing, and we'll see you at a show!

Jumonville, PA
Well, safe to say after a night like the last, we slept in on Saturday! We were glad to not have to load-in until 8PM at Winter Weekend! We have a blast every time we play it, and this year was no different! On the way out we stopped in Tarentum quickly to deliver a birthday present to some of our best friends, Featherlight. They celebrated their 4th birthday as a band, and we celebrated with them with a case of turners tea! We love those guys, and you should definately check them out @ www.wearefeatherlight.com and their new songs are amazing...for real, they're awesome. www.purevolume.com/featherlight. Anyway, we got to Jumonville (which is where winter weekend was held this year) and played and had a great time, although the PA cut out once and the stage power shut off in the middle of "Born to Shine"...we ended up having a sing along with just the drums to finish the song...it was entertaining! Despite all the technical difficulties, we had a lot of fun, and sold out of basically the rest of our merch! Don't worry butler, we'll have new shirts for you this Thursday! Here's a couple of pics from after the show...the other guys in the band got a little crazy!

So anyways, we're getting ready for the "Rat and Stash" tour with the Fold and Slingshot 57 (part of the tour is with them). It's gonna be a blast, and we'll be seeing you at the shows. All the info is on our beautiful new website, www.theswitchx.com, so check it out, and we'll see you soon.
